What we contact inside ourselves is ancient. I think people need to learn to trust that instead of trying to defend their feelings and beliefs with an historical ancient history. People sense something that they can't explain and make up all kinds of stories trying to figure it out and trying to bring it more fully into their lives.
What's ancient and eternal stirs our souls. Even when it's the idea of ancient evil, it still touches something deep inside us. It's familiar but we can't put our finger on it because it's hidden inside of us (and everything else, of course).
